Welcome to the cooperative nursery school experience! When we say "cooperative" we mean the parents operate the school together. From the President of the Board to class party planner, everyone's job is important. There is no shortage of help from our teacher and our veteran moms and dads. Together, we have operated a highly successful, fully accredited nursery school for over 30 years.
A cooperative nursery school also relies on the co-oping parents in the classroom every day. Cooperative means action! Parent/family involvement is key and there will be no other time in your child's life where you will have an opportunity like this one.
It's not all work! Most parents form lasting friendships during their membership at Mayo Nursery School that carry on into elementary school and beyond. A cooperative nursery school also teaches volunteering and participation that can play an important role in your child's education.
The cooperative nursery school experience lays a wonderful foundation for both parent and child. We encourage everyone to consider this option for your child's experience in formal education. It's an experience you both can share - together.
As a part of membership, everyone is expected to co-op (or volunteer) according to the schedule set forth by the co-op scheduler. Every effort is put into accommodating everyone's busy lives. Co-op duties begin at the start of class and end with the last student leaving the playground. During orientation, parents are given a tour of the classroom and given an overview of co-oping duties and responsibilities.
